Today I consumed a bit more calories than I usually do. I don’t have to track calories only carbs. but I can pretty much tell by looking at my food journal, so I thought I’d count them to confirm. Yup, I ate a little over 1,700 calories.
It’s recommended to for women to have 1,500-1,800 calories a day. It’s amazing that one can have so many calories and still lose weight.
With Atkins I don’t have to count calories but I do at least twice a week to make sure I’m at least hitting the 1200-1500 mark and just because I’m curious. I love that I’m able to have foods like avocado, heavy cream, butter, and Wendy’s double cheese burger (no bun), without thinking ‘goodness those calories’.
I don’t stuff myself, I eat foods that I’m allowed to and by the end of the day it has all balanced at least most of the time. There have been a few days when I was eating too little calories like 900. On Atkins I can stop losing weight if I don’t get enough calories in.
Anyway, all that to say, my dad, the kids and I went out for a Valentine’s lunch at Wendy’s. I splurged on the kiddos and bought each one a chocolate frosty.
Here is what we had to eat:
Mom~Wendy’s double cheeseburger without ketchup, mayo, and the bun. I brought my own sides, 1/2 avocado and some Blue Cheese Dress. Water.Total carbs: 5.7. Yay!!!
Joshua~Single Cheese no onions, small frosty
Annette~10 piece chicken nuggets with Sweet and Sour sauce, small frosty.
Caleb~Fish sandwich without the tarter sauce, small chocolate frosty.
Brent~6 piece spicy chicken nuggets. Sweet and Sour sauce, small chocolate frosty.
Ethan~Spicy Chicken Sandwich, small fries that he shared with his siblings, and small frosty (we had a coupon for 2 chicken sandwiches and 2 small fries for $7.99)
Lance~Regular Chicken sandwich, small fry that he shared with his siblings, and frosty (this was the other chicken sandwich and small fries from the coupon that we used with Ethan).
Total bill~ $33.00. I thought that was great. My sandwich alone was a little over $5.00
Now, all that to say, I had to rearrange what I had wrote in my food journal yesterday for today (are you following me ).
I didn’t have tuna, boiled egg, and a tomato for lunch after all but I did have the avocado. For dinner I ate the tomato that I was suppose to have for lunch.
Here is what I had for dinner, 3 pieces of lunch meat, string cheese, tomato, and jicama. Because I didn’t stay home today my mid morning snack of a boiled egg and 3 green olives was bumped up to my mid afternoon snack. Thus bumping my jicama up as well. Hee, hee, I know clear as mud, right?
Normally it isn’t so complicated but I do need to make sure I get 12-15 carbs from veggies and as you can see I’m still short by .5.
In case your thinking that my plate doesn’t look very filling. I admit I wasn’t full but then again I don’t have to be full just satisfied. I probably should have cooked a piece of chicken or salmon but I was too hungry. I did top it off with an Atkins bar, Peanut Butter Granola which is considered a meal replacement. So all was well at the end of the day (food wise).
