Homeschooling at Our House :)

My little guy, Ethan, was trying to catch a ball at AWANA. Some of those boys throw super hard. They’ve hit 2 adult helpers in the head all ready, ouch! I try to stay clear but I’m sure my day is coming Winking smile!

Ethan’s thumb is a bit swollen and bruised today.

Part of Ethan’s spelling program this year is See to Spell. This is a fun way to remember how to spell words.
See to Spell
And he completes a few pages of Dyslexia Games: Word Hunt.
The Thinking Tree
These are the books he’s using right now from The Thinking Tree. I still have a few more on my wish list.

The Thinking Tree
My goal is to have all his Thinking Tree curriculum by January when his official 7th grade year starts. I still want to get the Make Your Own Timeline and I just ordered Creative Writing Notebook for the days when his journal doesn’t have a creative writing page.
The Thinking Tree
Right now Ethan is into birds. He hasn’t perfected his bird drawing so you’ll probably be seeing them for a while.

These pictures are from yesterday. He’s still finishing up today’s work.
The Thinking Tree
This is a page from the Animal Art book from Dyslexia Games.
Here is Lance.
The Thinking Tree
Please excuse my messy book shelf. I need to organize it AGAIN!

Lance is working on his Spelling Time page.
The Thinking Tree
He has to have his blanket near. Today was a difficult Lance day. I just try to stay loving towards him (yes it can be difficult at times when he’s having a Lance moment) and answer with kindness, pray silently and wait for him to calm down.

Lance started a new journal: Teach Your Child to Write, Read, and Spell.
The Thinking Tree
My two older boys are at the library so no pictures until tomorrow!

  1. I love all the posts on the journals. I love peeking inside other homeschooler's journals! Disorganized bookshelves are just the status quo for a homeschooler!

  2. You're too kind and sweet, love it =)

We should do a "keep it real" post and show of our bookshelves. A snap of how they looked in the morning BEFORE we cleaned for a photo ;)

  3. Ouch on the thumb :( I hope he's feeling better now.

I laughed at your bookshelf comment. I've got books stacked up on my coffee table so you can't even see the table. I was supposed to go through them, but with being sick, the pile got bigger instead of smaller.

  4. His thumb turned a few shades of color but is much better. And I still need to get to that bookshelf ;)
