A friend from church invited me to go pick up her chickens that she ordered. So Lance, Annette, and I made a day of it. It was like a field trip.
We ate at the restaurant. The meat comes from grass-fed cows. The bread is homemade. There is even a mill on the premises.
I splurged and ate a burger and fries ($9.99). We all ordered water but did have dessert!
Lance amused himself by building with sugar packets.
Annette practicing her photography skills.
Next we went to the market to buy a fat pig, then home again, home again, jiggety-jig.
Just kidding, we didn't buy a pig.
Lance did enjoy watching the men cut up a slab of beef.
Our last stop before picking up the hens was the General Store.
My friend bought chicken feed here.
You can't tell in the pictures that it was super windy. We had to hold onto our skirts, hehe! It was a fun day. We didn't get home until 8:00 P.M. I was falling asleep on the way home, embarrassing! The night before I just couldn't sleep. I was tossing & turning till past 2:30 A.M.
I'm sad to write that I didn't get a picture of Annette. She was busy taking pictures (practicing).
