I love the cover on this one and the pages are amazing and look so fun!

All you need to add is a stack of five books and some fun gel pens, crayons, colored pencils, pens, and a pencil.

It's suggest 5-8 pages per day but of course it's always up to you and your child. This journal is a little thinner than many of the other ones at 270 pages (still a lot of fun packed into it though).

This Journal was designed to be used with your own history, science, and math curriculum of your choice or add the Timeline of World History, Science Handbook, and/or Math Mysteries!

As with all the Thinking Tree Journals this one uses the Dyslexie Font.

I just love these trace and color pages. I think they are a great help with those fine motor skills. I know at this age we aren't usually thinking about our child's motor skills but for some kiddos it's a struggle to write. These pages may help because the child is tracing and what's great about it is your child won't think of it as babyish because for one ~they not even realizing they are working on those skills and two ~ it doesn't look babyish.

I love that spelling is covered and in such a fun way. You can read more about The Thinking Tree spelling method here.

Cross curricula activity ~have your child summarize what they learned in history and science.

~Have them read about the history of the animal.  Like the horse ~Where was it originally from? Who brought it to the Americas?

Your child can be creative and draw the animal too.

What else did your little one learn in science? They can write about the animals habitat, what they eat, what do they hunt, etc. or did they learn anything from another science text? Your child can add that too!
Use these pages not only to add geography, wildlife, history & science but as a spring board to dig deeper. Get out the globe and the place-mat maps too!

I think this would be a great addition to any curriculum. You can have your child use it as their science program.

It not only covers science but:
*Creative Writing
*Some Geography
*A little Grammar
*Summarizing what they learned in history & science

With this journal I'd add my own math and history or you could take time off from regular school and just enjoy using this beautiful journal (but maybe keep math or use one of The Thinking Tree math books ~they are all out-of-the box type math books so it won't seem like drudgery math :)
