Good Morning!!!

Not a good way to start my school week. I'm having a big cup of coffee in my blue Coffee Bean mug. I like how this one gives me two cups in one!

Annette's upset because we all woke up late. The children woke at 7:20 a.m. She just came to me and said in a not normal voice, "Mooom, I don't think I'm going to finish on time today, it's ten minutes to eight."

I in my calm voice said, "We all woke up late, it's okay."

One of my goals this year is to not change my voice too. I am trying to teach the children not to but yet I do. It's so hard. Especially with Annette. For some reason when she gets her little attitude I start getting irritated and you can hear it in my voice.

Annette & I are both working on this. She really does try. I can see it when she wants to get upset but she controls it.

Here is Annette, last Friday. She had homework and she did it cheerfully. She made herself a cup of chocolate so I guess that might have helped. Notice the socks on the chair. When she gets hot, she takes her socks off and puts them on the chair. She says so she won't forget about them. Lupe, is not to happy about the socks. Hee, hee.

I'm already editing this post because I just heard Annette, say, "Awe man!" She was taking her bowl of instant oatmeal out of the microwave and it spilled it. She is very upset. I told her that it's okay. She can get a towel and wipe it up. I encouraged her to learn from her mistake. Next time she can use the step-stool. She said she did but was partly on it. Now she knows to put both fee on the step-stool.
She went to clean up the mess when I heard her say, "It's a really big mess, it's on the lid and stove.'
I said, "That's okay, it all can be cleaned. I'm thankful that you didn't get burned. The mess can easily be wiped up."

Might as well add what is going on around my as I type.

  1. Josh, is mopping the kitchen floor,

  2. Annette is cleaning her Oatmeal mess.

  3. Lance, is playing with his army me. Making funny, cute noises.

  4. Brent, is just now getting his chorepack.

  5. Caleb, is eating cereal.

  6. Eeeks! Ethan, is sleeping

  7. Lupe, is on his way to work
P.S. (We are also working on the 'awe man' thing)

Did you know that awe according, to the American Dictionary of the English Language Noah Webster 1828 means: Awe, v, To strike with fear & reverence; to influence by fear, terror and respect: as, his majesty awed them into silence.
Awe, n, Fear mingled with admiration or reverence; reverential fear. Stand in awe and sin not.
So awful means full of awe. Awful-That strikes with awe; that fills with profound reverence; as the awful majesty of Jehovah.

  1. I try to keep my voice the same, too, and it's hard! But if I don't, then my children certainly won't. Thanks for dropping by my blog!
