Homemade Fabric Softener

I know I can just use vinegar for fabric softener and have for years. Recently thought I found this recipe. My clothes feel so much softer.

In a large bowl put:
  • 1 part baking soda
  • 6 parts vinegar (lots of fizzing)
  • 8 parts water (this will calm the fizzing)
  • 10 drops of essential oil (I used Eucalyptus Oil. I have read the Eucalyptus oil kills germs and  can kill dust mites on bed sheets by adding)
I start with 1/4 cup baking soda, 1 1/2 cups vinegar, 2 cups water and add Eucalyptus oil ( you may want to start with five drops and work your way up, see what works for you. I also add a few drops of Eucalyptus oil to my laundry detergent. I put my softener in one of those honey teddy bear squeezable bottles.

You can make a bigger batch if you like using the above recommended 1+6+8 parts.
