Phonograms

Last week I took each child to my room for privacy because I wanted to see how much each new regarding their phonograms.

Annette, missed oo,ew,ough,ey,ui,ey and ie.

Caleb missed oo,ough,ey,ui,ei,s,e,a,u,oe,aw,au,wr,gn and ti. With the single phonograms he missed them because he didn't know all the sounds. For instance the phongram a has three sounds and he only new two.

Brent, o,ie & gn

I left Joshua's in my room. Will have to come back and add his. I think they are doing pretty well considering there are 70 phonograms.

Today the children also took a spelling test to see if they are improving. I'm happy to report that they are.

Joshua went from 3.3 to 3.4 (SWR)
Annette went from 3.9 to 5.1 (SWR)
Caleb went from 2.3 to 2.6 (PR)
Brent went from 2.3-2.6 (PR)

We started SWR at the end of December. I hope to see more improvement from Josh. The phonograms are hard for him but he is really trying. I'm thankful that there is some improvement.

I am happy to report that I know all 70 phonograms. I mastered them while playing 'The Phonogram Fun Packet' with my children.
