Miquon Math

I got this crazy idea that I would use Miquon Math over the summer with all the children. I'm tired just looking at it. I tried using this program with Josh when he was in 1st grade but back then I had a 6, 5, 4, 3, almost 2 year old and baby Lance. My body was in need of repair! Anyway, I was just too plum tired to try to figure this program out.
Here I am again trying it. The problem is it's such a different way to do math.  There are three different teacher helps Notes to the Teacher, Lab Sheets Annotations, The First Grade Diary between them they help you understand Miquon and they give you ideas but there is no 'real' teacher manual like you would find with Horizons or Bob Jones. In other words it doesn't tell you exactly what to do or have answer sheets. They are helpful, just not the way I want them to be.
I really thought this time I would make it work and get my kids thinking math a different way. It really does look so good. If only they could attend the Miquon School. That would be nice.
Thankfully I purchased this all for a good price used. I'll hang onto it for a while, who knows, maybe I will use it over the summer!

  1. Yeah, I have had Miquon math (the red and the orange book) since Cena started Kindergarten. I looked at them several times and never have used them...I kinda glanced at them the other day before I ordered Gaby's Horizon's math and thought..maybe I should try and use that..and it was just that ~a thought~ LOL
