Combine or Not Part 2

Continue post from Combine or Not.

A big reason why I'm thinking of combining MFW with most of the children is with math it takes me about a few hours to teach four grades. With Phonics I will teach three different groups of The Phonics Road which takes between 30-40 minutes per session. Then there's history and read aloud time.

I think I need to get more organized with school. I know I need to start waking up at 6:00 a.m. instead of past 7:00 in the morning.

School needs to start at 8:00 sharp.

I know those two things need to happen if I am going to get it done.  I also need to plan lunches in advance. Get snacks ready. We do have a snack shelf. The children have permission to take one snack item before lunch.

Well, that's it for now. Time to iron clothes for church!

  1. Hi Linda,

With me, it's about prioritizing the subject...for example, with Adam, it was absolutely necessary to prioritize spelling because of his needs. With Joshua, it's been the math, as everything else he catches on to quite quickly.

Try to pick the one subject that's really important to continue with that you have to give up the most of your time, if not, Linda, I'm afraid you will experience burn-out. And that's speaking from my own experience this year with only two. ;)

Adam demanded a lot of my time, but next year he will be more independent as he doesn't need me so much anymore and the curriculum I've chosen for him will sort of lead him into self dependence. And Josh is the one that will need me because I'm afraid that according to the world's standards, he's very behind. :(

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that you know yourself and what you can do. I have no doubt that you can pull it off, my only fear is your burning out.

    Much Love in Christ,

    Dee
