Filing Bob Jones Heritage Studies 8 (Josh)

I'm back to filing again. I had the children watch The Lone Ranger. They really enjoy that. Joshua, said that he likes the Lone Ranger more than Spider or Batman because the Lone Ranger is real. He is a man with no super-powers. I like the Lone Ranger because he doesn't shoot to kill.

I said I wasn't going to file Joshua's Heritage Studies but I changed my mind. I didn't know that the Activity Guide (workbook part) does not have the textbook pages on them like Annette's. I'm having to look in the teacher manual to find what pages he will need to read prior to doing the Activity page.

I started by printing all the extras from the CD. I decided to print two to a page to save on ink and paper.

Then I wrote the pages that Josh, needs to read before filling out the activity page.
I wrote it in pencil so it's not showing up because of the flash, but I wrote the pages to be read above the were it says Chapter 3.
I paper clipped the lesson together and then clipped the whole chapter.
I also wrote a note with a writing assignment for that chapter and stuck it to the front of the packet.
Below are all of chapter 2 lessons, visuals from the cd, test and answer keys.
Then I'll put all the paper clipped packets in a yellow hanging file folder.
Below are file folders for Josh that will go in my 'main mama' crate. I am pulling a handful of lessons from each subject to go in the main crate. This way I am not needing to go through three crates when I write their weekly lesson plans. I will have file folders in my main crate for all six children.
As I go through the teacher manual I'm finding so much good information. It sure makes it hard to have Josh, use this more as an independent history course. I would love to use everyting from this history package to it's fullest but I can't. There is only so much of me to go around. Praying for contentment and that Josh will still get a good grasp of American History (which I'm sure he will, he has many books on the subject.)
That's were I'm at today.
I'm off to rip more pages out =)

  1. I don't know if you remember me, but I used to keep up a blog - mulberry street christian academy. I was the one who lost a baby a few years ago when I went into septic shock after a kidney stone. Anyway I saw your picture beside a comment on the SCM site and thought "she looks familiar". Now I remember, I used to follow your blog. Nice to see your fun blog again. Blessings.

  3. Good to see you on Facebook. It has replaced blogging for me. I am better at quick notes. Also, I don't know how to make my blog pretty. :(
