What a Night

We all went to bed quite late last night. Lupe rented a movie; Doc West.

The children enjoyed it. By the time it was over it was midnight.

Lupe and I put the kids to bed and we stayed up talking for a while, when we heard Lance, crying. I brought him to our room. He said his ear hurt. For the next few hours he was in pain and it hurt to see him that way. I didn't have any garlic to make a home remedy.
Lupe, checked online to see if there was another home remedy. He found a few but we didn't have the ingredients.
Lance was crying and saying, "I'm not happy. My ear hurts. I hurt. I'm sad." Poor little guy.
At 3:00 a.m. Lupe, went to a Walgreens (thank you Lord for 24hr. Walgreens). While Lupe, was gone I sang to Lance, and tried to make him as comfortable as possible.
Once Lupe, returned I put three drops in Lance's ear. He calmed down immediately. He was still crying and said that the medicine was hot and it hurt but I could see it was helping. I continued to sing to him and smooth back his hair.
At 4:00 am I finally decided to lay down next to Lance, but as soon as I turned off the lamp, Lance, was screaming. He had to go the the bathroom. He kept having to go to the bathroom. I think it was 5:00 am when we both fell asleep.
When I woke-up at 8:30 a.m. or so, I could hear my dad in the kitchen with the kids. I'm sure Joshua, made him some coffee.
I got up to use the restroom, said 'hi' to dad and went back to sleep.
A few hours later I woke and Lupe, was dressed and ready to go to Dallas. He was taking the three older children with him.
I decided to get up. Dad, was gone. I poured me a cup of coffee, checked my email and had to go potty again. When I looked in the mirror I had to laugh. My hair was so messy. I put it back in a ponytail and finished my coffee.
I'm still tired and am going to take a little nap. Lance, is doing much better. He is not allowed to go outside or run around. He is happy to just sit and play with Playmobiles.

  1. Poor kid! I used to get earaches all the time as a kid. I've ruptured both eardrums about five times, and I even have a slight hearing loss because of all the scar tissue. I had tubes - but that didn't seem to do much. Once in a while even now I will have a gold that settles in my ear. I've found that putting a few drops of honey - which we always have on hand - in the ear and covering it with a cotton ball does wonders. Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be anything. Blessings.
