Back to Homeschool {Day 2}

We had our first day of homeschool yesterday and I haven't even posted what the final selections are. Hopefully I can get to that today or tomorrow.

Our first day

I woke as 7:00 a.m. and rang the bell to wake everyone else (except Lupe, he was already up).
8:00a.m. Everyone was dressed, ate breakfast and was ready to go.
Normally it would be Bible time but since it was our first day I talked about what to expect this year. I told them that I have some schedules made up for everyone but they will be tweaked and it may take a month to really get the schedule to fit our days.
I then had a 1-1 time with Annette and Josh. During this time I went over the curriculum that they will use and schedules.
By this time it was 11:00 a.m. and my dad was going to take us to Braum's for ice cream
 Lance is yawning but tried to smile at the same time. He fell asleep on the way. We took the long route to Braum's.
 Lance and Brent had a Root Beer. Annette and Ethan had a Banana Split. Josh and Caleb had a Brownie Sunday (double scoop)

Once done with our ice cream we went next door to a resale shop and bought lots of books. The paperback books are $.35 and hardback $.75. We bought $14.00 worth of books. Many were paperback. I also found a cute little school desk for $4.99 {picture coming soon}. It's a little beat-up but still has lots of use. I originally bought it for Ethan but Josh fell in love with it.

By the time we arrived home it was a little past two o'clock. The children were ready for some quiet time and so was I.
I received our Art books and a box from WinterPromise, so that kept me busy as well (looking at all those shiny books)

In the morning, I made sure to make me a filling breakfast. I scrambled some eggs and sprinkled cheese on them. Yummy!
I accidentally left the burner on low and burned the remaining eggs in the pan, so our house stunk for the first half of the day. Thankfully the weather is much cooler in the mornings now {high 50's and 60's}. We opened all the windows to get the stinky egg smell out.

That was our first day of school.
Blessings,
Linda<><

  1. Sounds like a fun day! Wish I could of been there to share in the delicious ice cream and the fun of exploring books! So with those prices, how many books did you get for the $14?

  3. We were just talking about Braums last week. We took Grandma to Dairy Queen, but commented that we really enjoyed Braums.
