Keep the Nativity Scene

I'm for keeping CHRIST in CHRISTmas . I love seeing nativity scenes.

You are invited to a rally planned for Athens, Texas, this Saturday in response to the threat to the nativity scene on the courthouse square. The Henderson County, Texas, Nativity Rally will take place on the courthouse Square from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Organizers said they are hoping that Christians will use this rally to come together in love, to unite and show the world the true spirit of Christ and Christmas.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation, a Wisconsin-based atheist group, has demanded that the county remove the nativity scene displayed outside a courthouse in downtown Athens. Allegedly a Henderson County resident complained to the Freedom From Religion Foundation and the foundation has notified the county that the nativity scene is in violation of federal law. The foundation asked for the baby Jesus to be removed, or for a sign to be put up next to his crib that would read: "At this season of the winter solstice may reason prevail. There are no gods, no devils, no angels, no heaven or hell. There is only our natural world. Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds."
Henderson County Commissioner Joe Hall says he'll fight to keep the nativity scene in place. "Don't come down here and tell me there is no God. This nation is a Christian nation regardless of what those fruit loops and fruitcakes in Washington, D.C., say. Hell will freeze over before I vote to have it removed," Hall said. See Video Here.
Pastor Nathan Lorick of First Baptist Church in nearby Malakoff, Texas, said it was time to stand up and speak up in defense of Christianity, which is the majority in Athens. "I hope this is a platform all across the nation that says, let's take America back," he said.
There will be some singing of Christmas carols, speaking, and praying. The event is scheduled to last for one hour and we are praying that it brings about a passion for Christians to stand up and be counted!
There will be a food drive in connection with Saturday's rally so please bring a can of food to the rally with you for area food banks. The organizers see this as an opportunity to not just talk about love but rather to show love through action. The rally will be held rain or shine.
