Day 76

It is raining today, so I allowed the children to stay in their pjs if they felt like it. Josh, Caleb, Ethan (I think he slept in his clothes) and I are dressed, Annette and Brent are half dressed, they both are wearing pajama bottoms and Lance, stayed in his pjs. I figure part of the fun of homeschooling is being able to stay in ones pajamas on a cold~rainy day.

I thought the two cold slices of left-over pizza would have been enough for breakfast, by 10:00 I could tell it wasn't. I was not being very patient and little things would get on my nerves, like the children laughing and being loud when I'm trying to teach grammar but we all survived!

8:00-8:40 we started with Latin. We recited lesson 6 and 7 and completed 1pg. from the workbook.
8:40-9:15, Josh was in the 'hot' seat. We corrected his missed problems from yesterday's math and I gave him today's assignment.
9:20-10:00, With my Preparing boys (Caleb and Brent) I read a chapter from Grandfather's Box and the children completed a written narration with my help.
10:00-10-15 with my Preparing boys we completed our first timeline assignment. I decided that ours would be an accordian type timeline instead of using a closet door.
10:30-10:45 Lance, completed an All About Reading lesson.
10-50-11:00 I read from our history reader with my Beyond boys (Ethan and Lance)
11:05-11:10 I went over the Beyond spelling list with Ethan. I had him copy the words into his composition book.
11:10-11:25 Ethan, read a chapter from his Bible reader.
11:30-11:40 I helped Annette search online about 'what animals eat grubs' she had to draw them in her science notebook 'A Nature Walk with Aunt Bessie'. While I searched she did some math with Lance.
11:45-12:00 I stuffed two more slices of left over Pepperoni pizza while I read a chapter of Beorn the Proud.
12:00-12:10 Read a poem from Beyond to the children.
12:10-1:00 Lunch. The children made little pizzas using slices of bread. I continued to read my book.
1:00-1:20 completed an All About Spelling lesson with Caleb and Brent.
1:30-2:00 completed a Shurley English lesson with Caleb and Brent.

I have decide to rotate English and spelling with Caleb/Brent and Ethan. Friday I did All About Spelling and Rod and Staff English with Ethan, so today, Monday I did Shurley English and All About Spelling with Caleb/Brent. Tomorrow at 1:00p.m. I'll do grammar and spelling with Ethan and so forth. I figure this way no one gets left out. In one months time both will have had at least 10 grammar/spelling lessons a month. At the end of a 9 month period they both would have 90 grammar/spelling lessons.

My 'desk' last night as I was preparing for today.
 My 'desk' this morning.
A page from Annette's Analytical Grammar.
 Lance, practicing rhyming.
Josh, completing a Writing with Skill lesson.
Brent, completing a drawing from Draw and Write.
Caleb, also completing a drawing lesson.
 Annette, working on Analytical Grammar.
I fluffed his hair and took a picture of my cute little guy.
Ethan, completing a few pages from Explode the Code 3 (using Fast Track Phonics from WP)
