Week 17/Day 86

Week 17. Day 86. January 16th-20th, 2012.

This is what my children (mostly Brent and Lance) would do all day if I let them.
I am really enjoying using Heart Of Dakota's Preparing Hearts program.
I'm actually fitting in history, science, geography, history projects and we are making a timeline.
My Preparing boys (Brent in particular) are still getting use to the heaver work load, which I think is a good thing.
Brent, gets frustrated but it's his own fault. He twaddles and ends up taking forever to do an assignment that would only take 15-20 minutes. He will admit it. He knows he has a choice to twaddle or get it done. In the end he does apologize.
Below he is doing a good job.
Brent's cave art. A bull and Woolly Mammoth.
We have been learning about the Arctic Tundra. Once a week for science they copy a drawing from the book. This week the children had to draw the life cycle of a Snow Mosquito like the one pictured below.
Because my boys are not doing this assignment to the best of their ability. I sat down and did the assignment too. I showed them my life cycle of the Snow Mosquito and told them from now on I expect better work. My drawing below took all but five minutes.
Both boys are turning in sloppy drawing. Again, I know they can do better.
Below is our timeline. The top one is Brent's and the one below is Caleb's.
Ethan, only completed two math lessons this week. He will do another lesson on Saturday. The joy of homeschooling, hee, hee.
I blogged daily, so if you would like to read more about this week please hit the 'Home' button and scroll down.

Blessings,
Linda<><

  2. First of all, I love your blog, it's adorable. :) We are doing HOD, too, and I am just loving it! We had an incident this week where I sat down and showed my son how quickly an assignment could be done, as well. He looked at me kind of surprised when I finished it so quickly. (And amazingly, he picked up his speed, lol!)

  3. We've just started Bigger Hearts and it's nice to read what's coming up in the next program. It's nice to see it "in action".

  5. Wow, I never knew HoD included so much. I am going to have to check it out (not that I need anymore curriculum). :)

  6. You had a good week! We know all about "twaddling" over here. On my DD's sticker incentive chart, I have to put a separate line for "diligence in math" because that is her twaddle subject.
