I don't know how my son Caleb came to collect Pokemon Cards. I didn't like them and have never purchased any cards for him, but somehow he ended up a collector. A few years after he started collecting (not that he was buying them like crazy, but he bought a few here-or-there) my brother gave him his collection. I think that is how ended up with so many.

A few days ago, I had fun sitting with  Caleb, looking at all his cards. We discovered together how to find identify which cards were 1st edition, authentic and worth the most. It may sound weird because of the whole Pokemon thing, but it was a precious time. It reminds me that I need to show more interest in the boy things that he likes. I need to take the time to throw knives with him, play Clone Wars and just sit and talk together, about anything that interest him.
