Date Night

We left a little late. I think it was past 6:00. My hubby was working hard on our taxes. He was snug in our little room all nice and warm. I mentioned that I’d be okay if we skipped our date night but he said he needed some fresh air. Off we were.

Our first stop was Chipotle. I like this place because the veggies are organic and the meat doesn’t have chemicals in it. The cows and pork aren’t fed ‘junk’ food. At least that’s what their menu says.
Chipotle
I ordered Fajita veggies with Carnitas and sour cream for a total of 6 net carbs. .

Our next stop was Half Price Books. I bought this Word Builders book for Lance. In the back there are letters and vowel/consonant digraphs and blends. You have the child manipulate the pieces to make words.

I still have to look at it but from what I gather you choose some letters as shown in the book, and have your child make words, change out letters and such.
This is something I’ve wanted to do more of with Lance. I have magnetic letters somewhere but where is the key word Sad smile
Phonics
I bought these grammar books for Josh and I. Right now I’m teaching Josh about verbs. Sometimes it can get confusing, so I thought the Verbs, Verbs, Verbs, book would come in handy when I want to review and go over or reinforce what he has learned. A quick reference book.

I also purchased Punctuation Power for me as well as the kiddos. I know my grammar is not that great so I’m going to read this handy, little book.
I thought Joshua would appreciate the Spelling book. It has over 16,000 words and is quicker than using a dictionary.
Language Arts
Lupe purchased some great Dvds. My hubby is not sure if he’ll ever build decks, frame walls, or floors but it’s something he’s been interested in learning. They will be great for the boys as well.
Building Floors
I can’t believe I was done finding books before my hubby. Usually it’s the other way around. While I was waiting I hopped over to the next aisle to check out the cookbooks and I found a low carb one.
Low Carb Recipes
Lupe also bought ‘See You at the Top’ for Josh and I purchased a book for Annette.
Books
Off to Target we went.  I needed straws, milk, eggs, brown sugar, and butter. Of course I ended up with more than the 6 items on my list. I forgot to buy more tomatoes.
God Food
I thought if I crammed all my food in the front part of the cart I could keep the price at around $60.00. I found it doesn’t work that way. It doesn’t matter where you put your food it still adds up! Thankfully I didn’t go over a $100.00.

I didn’t have to have the chocolate coffee but it was on sale. I also have been wanting to try Almond flour. That was $9.99. I bought some Greek Yogurt for the kiddos to make pizza crust. Just add equal parts of water and Greek yogurt and salt.

Our last stop was Starbucks. I wanted just a regular coffee. I could have brewed some at home but I wanted to sit and chat with my beloved.
I took my own cream to add to my coffee. Yum. It was under $2.00. I think I had Pikes Peek coffee.
And that was another great date night with my one-and-only. Love you Sweets!

Do you all have a date night? If so I’d love if you left a link in the comments section so I can read about your date night.

What is Date Night? It doesn’t have be expensive, you don’t even have to leave the house. Do you all go on a picnic in the backyard or go to McDonald and chat over a cup of coffee? Do you put the kiddos to bed early, put a pretty tablecloth on the table and have dessert?

  1. Another great date! My luv and I haven't really had time alone with all the girls being sick. Last night, though, we did enjoy going out as a family. Wow! I had all five of my girls without any boyfriends....hehe! This is hard to fit in anymore with my 2 older girls having part-time jobs.

    Blessings on your Sunday!
