Keeping it Real

Key Word Outline by Lance
As much as I’d like to see this neater this is how Lance writes. Hopefully this will encourage others that it’s okay if it doesn’t look like an advertisement for IEW. As long as they are trying their best.

I love that IEW gives kids the opportunity to learn public speaking skills.

We use this time to test the outline and practice public speaking skills. Once the kids are done testing (and sometimes before) their outline we then try combining sentences using which.

This week Lance started using Fix It! Grammar: The Nose Tree.
Fix it! Grammar
He found a pronoun!

The Teacher Manual to Fix It! comes with a free e-student book but I decided to purchase it. For $15.00 it’s just easier to have it already printed, spiral bound, and ready to go.

  1. I love how you give them the podium to do their public speaking!

  2. I read an older blog of yours about Saxon Phonics Intervention. I was wondering if the kit includes assessments, answer key, and lessons? I need to purchase a kit to review what my first grader has learned this year and I don't want to purchase the wrong kit. Any help wil be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

  3. Yes, if you buy the kit it includes everything. Just an FYI that Saxon Phonics Intervention is for an older student who is struggling with reading and spelling.
