It’s the Little Things

My Sweets and I went to the grocery store on our Date Night. I found that the hot chocolate was on sale for a $1.99 regularly $2.99. I thought I’d purchase some for the kids. My first thought was, “I can make a super healthy version for my kids”, but I know that sometimes a packet of hot chocolate is a fun thing for them.
So I bought three boxes and divvied them up. I added a note from mom and the kids loved it!

Around here with 6 kids I usually have to tell the kids only such and such amount otherwise one child may get three while another who likes to take their time may only get one.

I know it’s kind of sad to have to divide things up all the time but it is what it is and works for us. The children love the specialness of it too!

  1. I know exactly how you feel. With 5, I feel like I am always rationing food and snacks out! It's nice for the kids to have something that is all theirs sometimes!

  2. I've had to divide things up like that, too -- but you are far more creative with the cute little notes. We just had the same hot chocolate last night and made some whipped cream to top them. YUM!!

  3. Thank you ladies, I feel better about this now. I always feel like I'm teaching my kiddos to be greedy but seriously if we don't ration than someone is left out.

  4. I did the same thing with hot chocolate packets from Sam's Club. I divided them evenly and told them they could decide when to have their share. When they were gone, there was no more until I bought more after Christmas sometime. Hopefully they will learn to use them sparingly. So far so good.
