Leaving the Schoolhouse Review Crew

I can’t believe I’m writing this but I am taking a year off with reviewing for the Schoolhouse Review Crew!!! It was not an easy decision. I love being part of the Crew. I have learned so much being part of the Schoolhouse Review Crew. The ladies (and 1 gentlemen) are an amazing group of people and I’m going to miss them so much.

I was just telling a friend that being part of the Crew is so much more than receiving ‘free’ products, although I’ll admit I love getting those packages, haha! But the online community is super wonderful.

I was also telling my husband the other day that I’m going to miss chatting with those wonderful & beautiful ladies (and man) so much. They have been a part of my life for 4 incredible years!!! I'm going to miss, miss, miss them a LOT!

As hard as it was to not reapply (and believe me it was hard, I was over 80% done with my application when I knew I had to go back and hit the “I’ll be leaving” choice), I knew that my family needs more of me.

I absolutely love reviewing but I need Chase Slow for a while. I’ll still be reviewing but just not as much. I still have a few  Crew reviews that I need to get posted and a few non Crew reviews, then I’ll take a CHRISTmas break.

Although I’ll still post a few Spotlight with the Homeschooling Journals from The Thinking Tree.

Annette has been having fun filling in her Book of Useless Information.
I’ll write about it soon!

  1. ((((hugs)))) You already know I will miss it too, but I have to say it again - I will miss it too! It will be a nice break! Enjoy! I will, of course, still look forward to hearing your adventures and pray you will be blessed this year! Slow will be wonderful! ♥

  2. Thank you Michelle, yes, Slow will be wonderful and is much needed.

  3. ((((oh dear friend))) I hope that I haven't influenced you to give up something you love...NEVER my intent at all. I can imagine the work involved, but you always made it look natural and it flowed into working with your family and learning together (slow goal). I've been blessed with your reviews and have a feeling that your recent journal reviews will become part of our homeschooling adventure in the very near future.

I love you friend and pray that your decision will be a honor and blessing to your family. You are such an amazing teacher and friend and I've looked up to you for your inspiration and encouragement when I've felt overwhelmed.

    Happy Friday!

  4. Oh, friend, you're so sweet. As much as I LOVE reviewing for the Schoolhouse Review Crew I know in my heart that this year off is a good thing. MY kids need me more right now. I've prayed about it and talked to my hubby and talked to my hubby and talked to my hubby some more. It really was a hard part of me to let go.
I loved belonging to a wonderful community and really enjoyed writing up the reviews.

Reading your Choosing Slow post was such a blessing to me. In fact I need to reread them and will throughout the year. You are a gifted writer!!!

I think the journals will fit right in with the way you homeschool. They are so flexible, you can even continue with FIAR. With some of the books from FIAR you can use with the journals and have the girls fill in the pages making beautiful and creative pages.

Thank you for your kind words, they mean a lot. You too have been an encouragement through the years. I'm so thankful that we 'met' all those years ago when blogging was so new. Remember homeschool-blogger, I don't even remember the name anymore, ack!
