Coffee and a Classic Book Box Review!

I am super excited to share and review an amazing book box that I received from Coffee and a Classic Book Box. Wow, the name says it all!!! I received the Standard Classic Edition.

The theme for the May's Children's Classic Book Box was Aladdin and the Arabian Nights.

There are two levels to choose from:
  • The Starter Classic Edition $29.99~ in this box you will receive
~A Book ~ two bookish items ~ a bookmark ~ your choice of coffee, tea or hot chocolate.
  • The Standard Classic Edition $40.99 ~ includes everything that is in the Starter Classic Edition as well as a snack and a mug and it's all packaged in a photo box!

Coffee and a Classic Book Box offers three genres to choose from. May's Book selection was (*links are not the actual editions from Coffee and a Classic):

What's really nice about this monthly subscription book box is Coffee and a Classic will give a sneak peek of the books they will include in that month's box. If you already own the book and don't want to receive the next month's box you can skip it or change genres.

Items in the May box!

The book I received is absolutely gorgeous! It's a hardback book~ the illustrations are in black and white and full color too!

The illustrations are beautiful.

The mug ~ I love mugs so of course I was excited to receive an exclusive Coffee and a Classic's mug. It holds 14oz of your favorite coffee, tea, or hot chocolate.

I love the size and I love large mug handles that make it easy to hold and wrap your hands around it on a cold winter night or during summer thunderstorms.

The Coffee ~ oh my! Totally loved the coffee. Who wouldn't love Arabian Nights Cinnamon Coffee! As soon as I finished videoing my unboxing for YouTube I immediately made me a cuppa java and enjoyed every last drop of the Cinnamon Coffee.

If you aren't a coffee lover like me, you can always choose tea or hot chocolate. I love that you are allowed to choose what hot comfort drink you'd like.

The Bookmark ~ this is a Coffee and a Classic exclusive made by the company. I love the tassel and the beautiful vibrant colors.

The Snack: Almond Jewels ~ chocolate covered almonds, yum!

Bookish Item 1~ Genie Lamp Incense Burner. I most likely won't use it but I think it's really cute and my daughter claimed it. It is beautiful don't ya' think?

Bookish Item 2 ~ a Flying Carpet Mousepad! I love the pattern and it reminds me of Aladdin on his flying carpet in the Disney movie.

My final thoughts: I loved, loved, loved, this box of goodies. It had everything a coffee lover, mug collector, book person could ever dream about. Coffee and a Classic Book Box nailed it!

Mother's Day

I'm a little late writing about Mother's Day. I thought I'd better get writing before I forget about what we did on that beautiful day!!!!

My hubby has been so busy that I honestly thought he didn't have time to get me a little something (yes, my love language is gifts but not that it has to be anything expensive). My last Mother's Day I thought I was going to have to call 911 or an ambulance for my hubby and my gift was new tires on our car, (sigh, but our car needed new tires more than I needed a mom gift). Thankfully my hubby didn't need to go to the hospital but it was a scare for me.

Zojirushi bread machine

My sweet daughter Annette and handsome son Caleb bought me a bread machine!!!! I have been making bread by hand or using my Kitchenaid Mixer, then putting in the Excalibur to rise, and once done rising, putting it in the oven. I love making bread by hand but with the hot summer approaching, I was kinda dreading my bread making days.

Look at that beautiful bread. It comes out so good. I'll have to share my basic recipe. I love it because the bread comes out higher than when I make it by hand with some nice big air pockets or nooks and crannies for butter to fall in.

With me making so much yummy bread I have gained a little weight. When I saw this picture (which I love!!!) I saw my chipmunk cheeks too!!! Eeeks, I need to calm down with eating buttered toast!

My hubby bought me some flowers. They are so cheery and bright. The green one reminds me of the truffula trees from the Dr. Seuss book/movie The Lorax.

After church, my hubby asked where I wanted to go for lunch. We could go anywhere I chose. I decided on Subway. My hubby said we could go somewhere a little more expensive if I liked. Nope! Subway, I wanted a picnic with my family. It's rare these days to have us all together. With my hubby working long hours, Annette too, and Josh going to college, we hardly get to spend time as a family.

We ordered to go and went to a nearby park. My hubby surprised me with a Mother's Day card and some goodies. Wow, he outdid himself. He gave me sugar-free chocolate and a Barns and Noble gift card.

After our wonderful lunch, the weather was so perfect (thank you Jesus), We headed to the book store. I was originally looking for the book Home-Ground Flour but they didn't have it so I bought The Prairie Homestead Cookbook!

Sadly I don't remember what we did after going to Barnes and Noble. We probably went home to relax. Oh, I remember now, hubby made dinner! We had hamburgers and hotdogs made on the grill. They were so good. It was nice spending time at home with my family.

The kids (I think Josh bought it) gave me a card -the one pictured above.

My hubby gave me a special card too, the one on the left above in the photo.

It was a really nice day. The past twelve months have been so hard making it rare to just have a relaxing day. I was very thankful to the Lord for my beautiful Mother's Day.

The Delilah Box

I have been anxiously awaiting my first Delilah Box! My sister MaryEllen introduced be to book subscription boxes.

Basically, you pay a monthly subscription and you receive a mystery box of sorts. Sometimes you may know the theme or even a book but most of the items are a surprise. It's like having a birthday every month!

I was on the hunt for a Christian Book Box and am thankful to the Lord to have found The Delilah Box!

What's really neat is Taylor (the owner of The Delilah Box) has recently changed it from a box to a homemade bag (so you are actually getting a book bag =) which I think is just wonderful. The bag can be used for many things and the prints are so beautiful. She totally spoils her subscribers.

I'm a new subscriber so there was a note letting me know that she included the back "issues" or notes to "The Journey" series.

The Delilah Box

In "The Journey" series Taylor shares how she lost her husband last year (in Nov/Dec) and the journey of how God is seeing her through this most difficult time. I haven't read through all the pages of The Journey but plan to make a cup of coffee and read them. ~I was just too excited after opening my box that I wanted to blog about it right away.

Taylor thoroughly spoiled her subscribers this month. I received three books, yes three ~I believe you normally receive one or two books.

 The Delilah Box

I am so looking forward to reading Judah's Wife, A Life of Joy, and Wicked Women of the Bible. I don't know which to start first!

There were so many goodies in May's box! Beautiful postcards, a pen that is a stylus too, two packets of seed to plant some beautiful flowers, and two sheets Bible journaling items ~I believe they are stickers.

Subscription Unbox ~The Delilah Box

What did I think of The Delilah Box? I loved it and felt so spoiled. Our family is going through some hard times right now and I could use some encouragement. I love the verse that you are encouraged to memorize:

Peace I leave you; my peace I give you. I do not give you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled. Do not be afraid. ~John 14:27 (NIV)

I need to remember to not be afraid, not to let my heart be troubled and to rest in the arms of my Heavenly Father, only he can give the peace I need. The peace my family needs.

I look forward to next months book "box"!
